When they are buried, the composting process is started by the microorganisms & insects in the soil, in a sump, for example. In an ideal composting environment these can completely compost within 4 weeks. In a typical mining environment (low quality soil mixed with rock, etc) these will take between 9-18 months, it's subjective according to the number of microorganism present. Regardless, the bags are made from a natural product, and certified as such, so it'll never become micro plastics or harm microbes or insects in the soil. 2) Related, how long can they sit out above ground? During testing in a mining environment in Kalgoorlie, filled with rock sample and left outside in the elements and they have lasted 8 months at time of writing (see below prototype video). So if you want to resample this is going to fulfil that requirement. 3) What is it that starts the composting process? The composting process involves four main components: organic matter, moisture, oxygen, and bacteria. The biggest of these being organic matter (soil). 4) What does a Enviro Compostable Sample Bag cost? Currently, these are 2-3x the price of the Standard Green UV Bags, but as the economies of scale kick in and it becomes mainstream, we will see this drop in price. 450x750 & 600x900 are typically 3x the price the smaller bags are around 2x.  5) Are they ethically sourced? Yes, 100%. As part of getting the AS 4736 standards approval these bags have to be ethically sourced ensuring the products being sourced are obtained in a responsible and sustainable way, and that the workers involved in making them are safe and treated fairly. This is one of the first field trials by AngloGold Ashanti in Kalgoorlie. They wanted to make sure the strength of the bag was still good for 6 months so they could resample if needed. Burying the bag is what starts the composting process, so you get the best of both worlds.

These clay drill hole survey markers are the solution for when spray paints or survey stakes aren't working on site, especially when the spray paint is fading or the ground is too hard for staking. Simply mark up your survey or grid pattern by placing these on the ground for a high visible mark.  Standard Eco Clay Targets Each marker weighs 105grams and are supplied in boxes of 150, total box weight 16kg. They are 110mm in Diameter and 25mm High. If there is a requirement to write on the markers there is a flat area in the centre which is 50mm diameter. These survey markers are also biodegradable. As standard we suggest putting rollers every 75mm, however it’s largely dependent on which way you log the core and move the trays along. If the trays are only going to be logged and moved along parallel with racking then you can 'get away with' putting the rollers at 150mm centres. If you plan on moving the trays “sideways” along the racking (long side of the tray leading) then it’s recommended that you have the rollers at 75mm. Additional rollers can be easily retrofitted. FAQ: How many support legs do you need per section? We suggest at every 3m straight section join when the trays will be moved parellel with the racks. However if you plan on moving trays sideways, due to the weight per metre of rack, it's highly recommended to have an additional support leg in the centre of every 3m section. Firstly the basket weight is zeroed out on the scales. The heavy duty stainless steel basket is then loaded with up to 1.4 metres of core sample. The basket is then loaded onto the bottom rack which weights the dry core on the scales above it and an 'in-air' measurement is taken of the dry core. Following this, the basket is lowered into the water reservoir for a 'in-water' measurement. No need to move the basket from the top rack to the bottom rack, it's all measured from the bottom rack to stop shoulder injuries of moving a fully loaded basket. The accuracy of the reading taken in water is determined by the controlled ability to mechanically lower the basket into the water virtually eliminating scale settlement time and 'water slosh'. Secondly keeping the reservoir at a constant water level is achieved by the water being fed continuously into the main tank reservoir by the pump from the secondary water tank. This ensure the sample is measured in the same volume of water and same depth under the water every single time - critical if accuracy is important. The self leveling water outlet in the corner of the main tank then maintains the water level at a constant, regardless of what weight is lowered into the main tank. The unit is Health and Safety friendly with the whole movement control of the unit coming from the wired control switch that is fitted with a dead man switch, so the instant the operator takes their finger from the button the unit will stop.  The whole unit being subject to a wet environment is built from an stainless steel construction which ensures the longevity of the unit that is built to last in the mining environment for years. Like any accurate performing equipment, to ensure the accuracy is not compromised and that the moving parts don't foul up, especially the rails in which the lowering weighing table operates on, the operator must keep the unit dust free and clean. An enclosed, dust free environment just next door to the core shed is ideal. We have built and seen operations with a roller racking in-feed straight from the core shed into an enclosed modified shipping container, where the operator is in a comfortable environment weighing the core, and then an out-feed back into the core shed for the processed core trays. Dynamics supply these quality, heavy duty, transparent Zip Lock (Press Seal) Resealable Poly Bags, which are suitable for a wide range of packing applications. Mainly used in the geological field for soil and small rock sampling.They can be filled and then easily sealed by hand. Due to their airtight properties and the reusable seal, they are ideal for packing and storing small components and spare workshop parts too, such as nuts and bolts, etc. These bags also feature a convienient white 'write-on-panel' for notes of content and other important information.

Aluminium ID Tags are for labelling the content of Discoverer Core Trays. Since 1993 Discoverer has continued to produce only the highest quality products, with our Diamond Blades this is no exception. Dynamics stock a variety of quality wooden pallets. Due to the limitations on raw material availability on the West Coast, we typically supply the recycled wooden pallets. On the East Coast where the raw material is readily available, we can supply new pallets cost effectively. We manufacture our own splits for supply speed, quality and peace of mind. PVC splits are ideal for transferring core from the drill rig to the core trays/boxes and the main usage is for Geotechnical Drill Programs. _x000D_ Standard sizes are HQ, NQ & PQ and they are then cut to 1metre lengths. The Manual PVC Casing Cutters are manually operated devices for internally cutting PVC bore casings with wall thicknesses that are less than 9mm. Typically these devices are used in the rehabilitation of drilling sites where casings protruding above the ground are to be cut off below ground level before being plugged. The bent shaft petrol PVC collar cutter is a revolutionary way of cutting off the top section of waste PVC piping from your drill hole. Frequently Asked Questions about KT-10 & KT-20's Q1. How often should I calibrate my Magnetic Susceptibilty/Conductivity Meter? A2. All units are factory calibrated before shipping to you. This means that as long as the meter does not suffer from serious physical damage (i.e. the measuring coil gets broken), periodic calibration should not be required.  If you've had your unit and are in doubt about it's accuracy, you can easily calibrate the unit for magnetic susceptibility measurements yourself. Option 1 - Purchase a set of magnetic susceptibility calibration pads for ultimate peace of mind. Option 2 - Use a rock with a flat surface and thickness of at least 2 inches, which is homogeneous in its magnetic susceptibility. Draw a circle on the rock to make sure you always take the measurement at the same location, same angle and ideally same temperature (if possible).    Q2. It allows the geologist to classify based on a variety of properties such as size and shape, grain sorting, roundness, and sphericity of a sample. The chart consists of several measurement indicators including a sphericity/roundness measuring chart; printed examples of well-sorted and poorly-sorted grain samples in fine, medium, and coarse ranges; four actual grain samples illustrating angular, subangular, subrounded, and rounded shapes; six grain size samples: silt, very fine sand, fine sand, medium sand, coarse sand, and very coarse sand. It also includes measurement limits for granules, pebbles, cobbles and boulders (in order of size).

Construction Safety Designed and built in Australia, Corewise Automatic Core Saws are a premium galvanised and stainless steel construction, with all internal bolts made of Stainless steel to increase machine lifespan. The Recirculation Tank is recommended for use where water supply is limited. Once installed and tank is filled with water, you plug one end of the hose to the pump and the other end to the connector piece on the blade hood and then start the pump. With any core cutting it can be dirty and wet work. The 90 x 120cm long PVC, Water-resistant apron is perfect for splash back spray and dirt when cutting core. The Bausch & Lomb brand has a renown reputation to be at the pinnacle of Hand Lens manufacturing. The Brunton Pocket Transit was first patented in 1894 by David Brunton (a geologist) and continues to be an industry leading compass and measuring tool used by geologists, foresters, surveyors and archaeologists. The Freiberger and Freiberger with mirror are identical compasses just with and without a mirror respectively, with the Compass and Mirror configuration being the most popular. The Freiberger is the original structural geology compass and was built according to the specifications of a famous geologist known as Dr Eberhard Clar. Breithaupt have been manufacturing magnetic compasses in Germany since 1762. The Cocla is Breithaupt's top of the range stratum compass. Designed in close cooperation with Prof. Dr. Clar for geological, geophysical, mining, tectonic and rock mechanical applications. The Cocla allows for azimuth and angle of dip measurements to be taken in one single operation. The large circular opening in the compass housing contains the graduated circle, the magnetic needle with circular magnet and the copper dampening pot. At its base the housing is closed by a bottom plate of transparent, unbreakable plastic. This design allows for measurements to be taken and read from above the head. Most people have heard of the renown Artline brand of Permanent Markers, whether it be the Artline 70, Artline 90 or the Artline 17 and Artline 19's. We can't deny it, these are a great brand and they are still a very popular part of our range. However, we have sourced alternative choices for our customers, and the Dymark range of Industrial & Permenant Marker pens has become a great seller too. We'd stress it's still personal preferrence though, if Artline is your trusted brand stick with that but we also have Customers tell us they are perfectly happy with the quality of the Dymark brand, and it's become their preferrence due to it's quality and lower price point than Artline. So what is what? Artline 70 & 90 (Bullet & Chisel Tip respectively) is the equivalent style to the Dymark i70 & i90 - they made it easy for everyone with the '70' & '90' in the name designating the similarities. All pens are Xylene-Free, Quick Drying and General Purpose Permanent Markers. Available in Black, Blue & Red Ink. Artline 17 & 19 (Bullet & Chisel Tip respectively) have ingeniously become one pen in the Dymark range; the Industrial Marker called the Dymark D10 with a reversible bullet/chisel tip. The only real difference between this range and the 70 & 90 range is that these have a higher grade of ink for use in more 'industrial' situation and the inclusion of xylene content in the pen means they are able to be used on greasy surfaces. Lastly, the Dymark Duo Permanent Ink Marker has no Artline equivalent. It's an Industrial Grade Ink Marker like Artline 17, 19 and Dymark D10 but Xylene free and available in 3 colours; Black, Green & Red. The Duo also has a reversible bullet/chisel tip for your convenience. So in conclusion, from customer feedback, Artline quality still leads the way, whilst Dymark has pitched itself in the market as a more cost effective equivalent style marker pen seeking to gain some of the market from the 'Artline' big brother. Artline Paint Pens have been the renown industry leading brand for years, and you are expected to pay for the quality. We decided to source alternative options for our customers, and Dymark has filled that option. Customers seem to be perfectly happy with the quality of the Dymark brand, and it's since become popular due to it's quality and lower price point than Artline. Both brands are high performance paint marker pens with a Xylene free, fast dry formula. The Dymark P20 offers some unique features however with it's reversible tip, so whether you require the bullet tip or the chisel tip you can simple 'pull out' the pen tib and 'reverse it' in the end of the pen. The chisel tip will mark a 4mm line, whilst the bullet tip gives you a 2mm line typically. Also the P20 is available in the unique Pink, Blue & Green colour choices, and we have some clients that find these colours a preferrence for visibility when marking up core samples. So in quick summary you now have 3 options of Paint Marker Pens: 1 - Dymark P20, Reversible Bullet/Chisel Tip 2 - Dymark P10, Bullet Tip Only 3 - Artline 400XF, Bullet Tip Only Paint markers give you a liquid permanent mark suitable for marking on wood, plastics, metals, rubber, concrete, stone, glass, ceramics and cardboard - pretty much anything apart from recommending them for damp wood.

The MARX brand is essentially a general purpose spray paint that has rapidly increased in popularity over the last few years, becoming one of the market leading brands. Traditionally this paint may be referred to as Spray & Mark or Spot Marking Paint. It's used for many general spray marking applications on the ground, as it's solely an 'Upside down' spraying aerosol paint. For mine site layout, marking trenches, 'dig-blocks', perimeters and even general surveying of drill patterns or areas. It comes supplied in boxes of 12, in solid and fluoro colours and is contained in a 350g can.

A non-flammable layout marker specifically formulated for underground coal mines and fire sensitive situations. Mine Marking Non-flammable provides bright, highly visible marks on dark surfaces. This product is available with two different types of spray nozzle. The first is a 'fly-spray' style nozzle which can only be applied when the can is held upright with a horizontal spray pattern. The second nozzle is what we class as our 360 Spray which means the can is able to be held and sprayed in any direction, up, down or even horizontally. Although due to the nature of the nozzles we recommend the 'Fly-Spray' Horizontal nozzle for spraying on mine walls, particularly walls of the underground mine decline or working rock face and the 360 style for the ground or ceiling of an underground mine. The Mine Marking Non-Flammable comes in 4 Standard Solid Colours and 3 Fluoro Colours, shown in the table below. The coverage as advised by the manufacturer is approximately 3-5 sqm per aerosol can (depending on the surface). This paint has been specially formulated for rock, dirt and gravel found in mining applications, and the drying time is typically 5 minutes at 25c.

The Mine Marking is specially formulated for above ground areas and open-cut mines. Mine Marking provides high opacity, high quality, true colour pigment markings. This product is available with two different types of spray nozzle. The first is a 'fly-spray' style nozzle which can only be applied when the can is held upright with a horizontal spray pattern. The second nozzle is what we class as our 360 Spray which means the can is able to be held and sprayed in any direction, up, down or even horizontally. Dynamics G-Ex Flagging Tape is suitable for mining, construction, surveying, and numerous other applications. The main use for this within the mining and exploration is for the marking out of 'dig-blocks' in the open pit, and general site surveillance by the mine or exploration surveyors . The tape is hand tearable and avaliable in bright, UV stablized colours. A lot of Fieldies, Surveyors and Geologist will even tie Flagging tape around the Timber Survey Stakes in the field to provide them superior visibility with fluoro colours permitting easy sighting even at great distance. The standard flagging tape is 25mm wide, but we have clients that really like to use the double width 50mm Flagging Tape for extra visibility. Particular when around large heavy machinery operators as the extra width gives the required extra visibility right up in that machine cab! Finally an important feature to note is that these rolls are 100m in length. Some rolls on the market are only 75m in length, so when comparing them be aware that these rolls will give you 25% more flagging tape per roll. This makes it far more convenient when out in the field as a box of 10 rolls will give you an extra 250metres, so that's less packing for a big field day out! When it's a bulky item in your backpack this definitely makes life easier.

This is brilliant way to spray large areas of ground or rock quickly and easily! These sieves are a good quality 'field' sieve manufactured here in Australia - Not cheap imported sieves. As the name suggests the Aluminium Sieves are used mainly out in the field, constructed from an aluminium frame and galvanised steel mesh which come in 5 different sizes. Only the 0.4mm mesh is made of Stainless Steel due to the size of the mesh, therefore making this particular sieve more expensive. The sieves nest together into a stack for the grading of material samples. Sieves are generally used in conjunction with the aluminium scoops and alumium receiver for sample retrieval and storage. These sizes are not certified test sieves like you see used in laboratories, for those view our range of Stainless Steel Test Sieves. They are used for general purpose sieving applications where the particle size of the sieved material is not absolutely critical. The 200mm Diameter Vegetable or Vegie sieve is a fine mesh sieve, with wooden handle, used to wash and sieve sample chips normally over a Plastic Bucket. They also allow geologists to be able to clearly identify the rock types when clean and washed. This Chip Tray Sample Storage System was designed as a permanent storage and library reference system for oilfield drilling samples, in oil or gas exploration. This system overcomes several historical issues with oilfield drilling samples. The thin plastic and paper envelopes previously used were not transparent so this made it difficult to easily view samples. Also they often split, got lost, or frequently too bulky for efficient storage therefore making it difficult to access for past geological analysis. The sample trays are manufactured in a durable plastic called GP Styrene, which has excellent clarity for microscopic examination, and the fluorescence in oilfield samples can be reliably seen under ultraviolet light. The trays are stackable, allow easy access, and will not deteriorate over long storage periods. The wooden sample storage boxes hold the sample trays securely, and are also stackable and durable. The Storage System comes in two designs. The first design is a shallow Five Compartment Tray which the plywood storage box fits 102 of these or 510 samples (sample size per tray 20-25 grams). The second option is the large five compartment tray (54 sample trays or 270 samples in the same plywood storage box) which is bascially double the height of the shallow trays.
